Bakersfield, CA (October 23, 2023) – The Youth 2 Leaders Education Foundation (Y2LEF) is pleased to announce the launch of its Endowment Fund with the Kern Community Foundation, a pivotal step toward securing a brighter future for young leaders and underserved communities. The foundation, known for its dedication to empowering and educating the youth, is committed to expanding its impact by establishing the fund of $100,000, the largest within the Kern Community Foundation.

For more than 20 years, Y2LEF has awarded over $2 million in scholarships to deserving students in Kern County to continue their education at their respective institutions of higher education. In addition, Y2LEF provides guidance and support services to ensure that the scholars make a successful transition to college and excel once they are there.

Y2LEF has been a beacon of hope and transformation for young people for over a decade. It has tirelessly worked to provide educational opportunities, mentorship, and leadership development programs to those who need it most. Y2LEF has touched the lives of thousands of young individuals, offering them the tools they need to break free from the cycle of poverty, excel academically, and become leaders in their communities.

“I am honored to be a part of such a pivotal time for Y2LEF. This endowment creation will secure a brighter future for our central valley youth allowing the legacy of Y2LEF to continue for generations to come. I am excited to partner with the Kern Community Foundation as this partnership between two local organizations shows their dedication to improve the lives and education for the Kern County community. Together, we will create our future leaders.” added Executive Director, Gabriel Adame.

“I am proud to have Kern Community Foundation partner with Youth 2 Leaders.  Our mission of ‘Growing Community, Growing Philanthropy’ aligns with their goals.  They excel in growing our community by increasing access to education and professional development.  I’m excited to partner with Y2L to help them grow our community by growing their philanthropy.” – Aaron Falk, President and CEO, Kern Community Foundation
