Unemployment Remains Low

The number of Americans applying for jobless benefits stayed low last week.
According to Thursday’s report from The Labor Department, the total of applications for the week ending October 7 once again sat at 209 thousand.
The historically low number indicates a healthier job market despite higher interest rates.
1.7 million Americans overall received unemployment benefits for the week ending September 30.
