Plant Fire South of Bakersfield Nearly Contained

As on Monday, fire crews are approaching full containment of the Plant Fire burning in dry brush along Interstate Five near Grapevine Road south of Bakersfield.
Officials with Cal Fire say the blaze has burned 517 acres since it began at around 2:50 a.m. Saturday.
The fire was at 90% containment as of late Sunday night
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
