The National Weather Service Hanford, CA office has issued a heat advisory for the southern portion of the San Joaquin Valley due to excessive heat.

The advisory remains in effect from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Monday, July 11.

Forecasters anticipate temperatures to be 102 to 107 degrees in the valley and Westside hills and between 98 and 103 degrees in the lower Sierra foothills and Kern River Valley Monday afternoon.

NWS advises you to drink plenty of water, dress for heat, stay in the shade, reduce time in the sun, and limit outdoor activities.
