Crews Knock Down Brush Fire East of Bakersfield

Fire crews tackled a brush fire along Highway 58 east of Highway 223 Wednesday.
The fire started just after 7:20 p.m. when a semi-truck caught fire. The Highway Patrol says a 911 caller reported the brush fire approximately 10 minutes after the accident.
The blaze was limited to 16 acres.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 58 were temporarily closed.
