Groundbreaking ceremonies for a new affordable housing project in Porterville will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
Carolita is a $19.9 million, 68-unit project for low-income families which will be situated on a 4.7-acre vacant lot at 1055 W. Pioneer Avenue.
Porterville mayor Martha A. Flores will be in attendance along with California State Treasurer Fiona Ma.
“One of the most basic human needs is a place to call home – an affordable, high-quality home for hard-working families in Porterville,” said Flores.
“Carolita will be a great addition to Porterville and its residents. This is a great step to meet our community’s call to action for homes they can afford in communities that will transform their lives.”
Ceremonies will begin at 10:00 a.m.
