BEST BBQ BACON RECIPE EVER

Hey Gang, I’m on FACEBOOK!

Howdy Howdy Folks, my name is Puck and I’m the producer of the Jaz McKay Show.  I started the first week of September 2007, and I’m happy to be a part of such an exciting and growing show.

Let me tell you a little about myself.  First and foremost, my family is number one.  I’m married to the best gal in the world and her name is Tami. I can’t tell you how patient this woman is.  The crap she puts up with.  I’m very lucky to have her.  We’ve been married since March of 2006 and we're like peas and carrots.  Yes, I'm retarded, and she's hot and parties a lot.

I have a stepson who’s in the fourth grade. His name is David. He is definitely all boy.  I never had a kid before and it was tough at first to have a child in my life.  But he’s the best.  I wouldn’t trade him for the world.  In an ideal world, I would adopt him and call him my own forever.  This year, we are introducing him to the awesome world of scouting.  I'm looking forward to it.

In June of 2006, my wife and I had a girl, Abigail Leann.  I’m absolutely in love with my little Abby.  The one moment that I look forward to every day is when I come home and see her entire body smile as daddy walks through the front door.  You couldn’t pay me enough money to give that up.  She’s is definitely Daddy’s Little Girl.

And this just in... Tami and I are going to have a 3rd child due around the end of June maybe early July.  We are having a little boy.  His name is James Pleasant.  I'm calling him Baby James right now, but when he get's older, we will probably call him J.P.  It's a good time to be a dad again.

I’ve been in radio now for 20 years.  My first radio gig, sort of, was a part time janitor at KUZZ.  I'd vacuum, empty trash, and mop floors.  I ran into Buck once.  I didn't recognize him and he had no idea who I was.  I shook his hand and asked if I could take out his trash.  Never met him again.

My second gig was answering phones for the real Bruce Wayne on KRAB.  As good as a jock as he was, the ego really got into the way.  From what I understand, he actually had his name legally changed to Bruce Wayne.  What a dolt.  And this coming from a guy named Puck.

My first REAL gig was as a board operator at the Christian station KHIS.  I was there for about 3 years, and that's where I learned a lot about radio that I know today.  I ran the automation for all the talk programming, edited sermons for airplay, and had my own Saturday rock show.  I actually used my real name, Tony Lee, for that show, but some other guy in town has that name too.  By the way, it's the only job I've ever been fired from.

And then I was hired by AGM, where I spent the next 12 years of my life refining my radio career.  I started off as a board operator for hockey games.  I then moved to day time board operator.  Then morning drive board operator.  Then I produced Scott Cox's first ever talk show.   After a few months of limbo, The Truth on Sports with Brian Long came around and I ran his show for a year or so.  Brian is actually the assistant program director of KSPN in Los Angeles last time I checked.  Good guy.  Brian left and after a couple months, I was named the program director of the radio station, and that's when it became real fun.

I gave myself a show.  It was called, shocker, The Puck Show.  And my producer of the program...  Preston Nash.  I still remember the first show we ever did together.  It was a Saturday show, and I was getting a tattoo live on the air while he ran the board.  Eventually the show became Monday through Friday, and dominated the afternoons.  It was the best 2 years of my life.  In those two years, I went through infertility with my first wife, my eventual divorce, which I announced on the air while talking with my mom, my awful love life, and finally meeting Tami.  It was an incredible show, and I hope to return to something like it eventually.

During that time, I actually got to do the morning show on Real Rock 93.1 for a month or so.  Unfortunately, Rocky was fired, and they needed a fill in host.  They gave it to me, and it was a blast.  But, the management had already decided to go with a DJ Free format, and that gig was short lived.

Due to a radio ownership change, I was forced to cancel my own show, and I turned to hosting a radio shopping show.  I made some good friends through it, but it was awful.

While hosting the radio shopping show, I also did some side work as the play-by-play voice of the now defunct Bakersfield Blitz, Arena Football.  I loved it too.  Traveling with the guys, talking football with some pretty good athletes, and broadcasting.  It was something that I didn't expect to be good at.  In fact, I don't even know if I was "good", I just know I had fun doing it.

I got really tired of the radio selling crap show.  It really hurt me to let my show go and turn around and do this crap 3 hours a day.  And radio just wasn't fun anymore.  So I got a call from Preston and asked if I wanted to come to KNZR.   I sat down with Spanky Darnell, and the rest is history.

So now I’m here, and I’m ready to make some good radio again.  Thanks to Jaz, Preston, and Steve for giving me the opportunity to do so.

My wife and I also have our own DJ company called, TNT ENTERTAINMENT.  Since radio isn't as glamorous as everyone thinks, we need a little side work to keep the lights on and feed the kids.  So if you know of anyone having a wedding and/or a party, give us a call at 661-900-2497.  And mention KNZR and I'll give you the wink wink special!  Please call us today for all your DJ needs.
